Eliminate wood in contact with the ground. Termite problems often occur when wood components of the building are in direct contact with soil. Do not let moisture accumulate near the foundation. Termites are attracted to moisture and are more likely to infest if the soil next to the foundation is consistently moist. Reduce moisture and humidity in crawl spaces.
Never store firewood or wood debris against foundations or inside crawlspaces. Firewood, lumber, cardboard boxes, newspapers, and similar materials attract termites and provide a source of food. Avoid direct contact of loose soil in building exterior wall and ideally an appron of atleast 1 to 1.5 feet should be made to avoid direct soil contact to wall.

Mainly two types of treatment available which are done for Post constructed structures or a Pre-construction site. Pre-Construction treatment involves 3 stages where the soil is directly treated along flooring, wall and floor junction and finally the external perimeter.
