Bed Bugs Management

A bed bug's life begins with an egg, grain like and milky white in color. Female bed bugs lay between one and five eggs each day and may lie up to 500 eggs within one lifetime. Eggs are laid singly or in clusters and are placed within tight cracks or crevices..Bed bugs are parasitic insects that feed exclusively on blood. The name bed bug derives from the preferred habitat of warm houses and especially near or inside of beds and bedding or other sleep areas. Bed bugs are mainly active at night but are not exclusively nocturnal.

They usually feed on their hosts (either human or animals) without being noticed. They can survive up to 6 months on an average without feeding hence; elimination is the only way to manage them. Although the common bed bug (Cimex lectularius) prefers feeding on humans, it will also bite other warm-blooded animals, including dogs, cats, birds and rodents. The bugs are sometimes mistaken for ticks, cockroaches, carpet beetles or other household insects. Immature bed bugs (nymphs) resemble the adults, but are smaller and lighter in color. Bed bugs don’t fly, or jump like fleas, but can crawl rapidly over floors, walls, ceilings and other surfaces.
